The birthday of a famous musician is on the way,A.R Rahman Turns A Year Older Articles are we ready to celebrate it? Yes, I am calling to the fans of our dearest A.R.Rahman, who is going to celebrate his birthday on 6th of Jan. This year in 2013, he is going to be 47 years old. He is the one to make our country more popular in the world of music. Today, people residing in India can observe his melody been played in each and every corner of country.Allah Rakha Rahman, born 6 January 1966 as A. S. Dileep Kumar, is a world-class musician of India. He is a composer, singer-songwriter, music producer, musician, multi-instrumentalist and philanthropist described as the world’s most prominent and prolific film composer by Time, his works are notable for integrating eastern classical music with electronic music sounds, world music genres and traditional orchestral arrangements. He has won 2 Academy Awards, 2 Grammy Awards, a BAFTA Award, a Golden Globe, four National Film Awards, fifteen Film fare Awards, 13 Film fare Awards South in addition to numerous other awards and nominations. Due to his creative brilliance, he is often referred to as the “Mozart of Madras” by his fans in India and overseas and numerous Tamil observers and fans have coined him the nickname Isai Puyal in English tongue it is said as: Music Storm. In 2009, Time placed him in its list of World's Most Influential People. At the age of nine, he accidentally played a tune on piano during his father's recording for a film, which R. K. Shekhar later developed into a complete song, "Vellithen Kinnam Pol", for the Malayalam film Penpada. He holds the credit for totally renovating the style in which music was being made in India. Though with a career crossing just over a decade, He has already hawked over 100 million records world-wide and more than 200 million cassettes. This record has brought Rahman into the category of the world's topmost 25 all-time top selling recording artists. In my point of view, as a keen listener of Hindi film harmony, there was a certain conspiracy and excitement in attending to the melody of A.R.Rahman for the first time. I can imagine what 30,000 fans must have felt in November of 1996, when he appeared for his first ever live concert at the Shah Alam stadium in Kuala Lumpur. They danced to the non-stop composition for three hours-and still pleaded for more. He fulfilled their request by performing one of his favourite songs "Mustafa, Mustafa" to bring the concert to an enormous climax. In 1997, his album Vande Mataram was described by 'India Today' as a magical anthem that "stirred the patriotic spirit of a cynical nation." He dedicated the album to the future generations of India and wished that "the youth of today would wipe out phrases like 'chalta hai' from their vocabularies and find themselves motivated human beings". Soundtracks and notches composed by him for Indian pictures have a strong imprint of classical, folk, jazz, reggae, soft rock and other genres. After a long period he is composing music for Tamil movie “Kadal”. Let’s pray and hope for the success of this movie. I want to convey my regards to the God of Music a very prosperous year ahead.
