Last night i had the priviledge of being invited to the Burlesque movie premier in Cape Town, South Africa.Burlesque is a 2010 contemporary Golden Globe-nominated musical film directed and written by Steven Antin and starring Cher and Christina Aguilera. The film was released in January 2011 in South Africa. Cher and Aguilera contributed to the soundtrack album, with Aguilera contributing to eight out of the ten songs with Cher taking the remaining two
Last night i had the privilege of being invited the the Burleque movie premier in Cape Town, south Africa, i was really impressed with the movie - This is what the Burlesque movie is all about (well this is my brief description of the burlesque movie storyline!) ... The Burlesque Lounge is struggling for survival and it has its best days behind it. Tess, who is a retired dancer and owner of the the theater, struggles to keep the aging theater alive, facing all kinds of financial and artistic challenges. With the Lounge's members becoming increasingly distracted by personal problems and a threat coming from a wealthy businessman's quest to buy the spot from Tess, the good fortune seems to have abandoned the club altogether. Meanwhile, the life of Ali, a small-town girl from Iowa, is about to change dramatically. Hired by Tess as a waitress at the Lounge, Ali escapes a hollow past and quickly falls in love with the art of burlesque. Backed by newfound friends amongst the theater's crew, she manages to fulfill her dreams of being on stage herself. Things take a dramatic turn though when Ali's big voice makes her become the main attraction of the revue.
