Our Friendship through a Big Surprise

In recent years studying abroad has flourished. Thousands of scholars and students have gone to foreign countries to study. Many people are sparing no effort in applying for going abroad. There, they can meet different people and experience different cultures, which may help to broaden their views.

Attending schools abroad has many advantages. Students who have studied abroad can act as mediators between peoples of different cultures so as to promote international understanding and we can learn much more advanced knowledge of science and technology from the foreign countries. We can enjoy the contact with new and different cultures so as to increase the awareness of our own culture and we can learn a foreign language more quickly. However Every coin has two sides. Studying abroad may have disadvantages such as language barrier in the first few months or financial difficulties before getting a scholarship. Nowadays more and more young people are going to study abroad. At the same time, another phenomenon of export of labor service turns up. That is people go to another country and work as a volunteer, exchange teachers or something else.

One of my good friends, Mary, goes to an Asian country as an exchange teacher after she graduated from university. There, she teaches the students' English as a foreign language teacher of them. Sometimes, she feels very lonely in that unfamiliar country without friends. But she will not return home less than one year. She always tells me that she misses her parents and friends very much. Actually, she has attached greater importance to the quality of life, thus she spends some money and time traveling and sight-seeing. She wants to make trips to reduce the feeling of loneness. In her other spare time, she usually surfs online. As her best friend, I usually share the loneness and happiness with her so that she will not be so lonely, especially on festivals such as Christmas Day. We are good friends all the time..

 In my opinion, there should be communications about everything between two good friends. Last Christmas Day, a postman who knocked at my door said that there is a package shipped by an online store called www.dinodirect.com  .My first response is that maybe the post office has made a mistake because I never purchased anything .A few hours later, Mary called to ask me if I received Christmas gift she sent to me. I was really deeply moved by the big surprise she had given me. I hope I will be friends with her all the time. And we can share with each other both the good things and bad things. Although life is tough, especially in a foreign country, we need to have a balanced point on it. What's more, it is a morality for us to help each other when meet difficulties.
