Firemaking is considered to be one of the most common skills in Runescape. Levels 1-15

 

To start leveling, it is preferable to burn normal logs till 15. It is quite easy to get logs from the Grand Exchange, by other players or by cutting trees. 61 normal logs are enough to reach 15, which is available for both P2P and F2P to burn logs at this time.

 

Levels 15-30

 

As you have got to 15, it is better to use Oak logs which can give you more experience for each log than that of regular logs. And you can level 30 with 183 Oak logs both are for F2P and P2P in this way.

 

Either you can set level to save cash, or you can burn Willow logs. It is well recommendable to use Maple logs if you only want to burn out these levels, which will give you more experience but it is more expensive.

 

Levels 30-99
