In today’s tattoo news I heard that a tattoo parlor is getting sued for the second time for misspelling someone’s tattoo. This leads me to the upmost important thing you need to do before your tattoo artist’s even starts that tattoo gun. Make 120% sure that if you are getting a word tattooed on you that it is spelled right. One of the worst possible things that could happen is that you walk away with a misspelled tattoo and there literally is NO correcting it.

A tattoo artist at Northwest Side parlor is being sued for misspelling the word “tomorrow” on a man. Instead this man got “Tommorrow” tattooed on him,Spell Check Before you Ink Articles which the tattoo artist later tried to cover up with some clouds.  17 months earlier the same parlor was sued for misspelling “Chi-Town” on a man accidentally putting “Chi-Tonw”

So if you do not want to end up in these men’s shoes there are a few things you can do to prevent this from happening. One, write down the saying or word you want tattooed yourself. A lot of tattoo shops will copy the tattoo design you want on a piece of magic copy paper and then rub the design on your skin. This is done very similarly like you would do to put a temporary tattoo on. And the tattoo artist just simply follows the design to make sure that everything is Kosher. If the tattoo parlor that you are using does everything free hand I would double check with them that they understand how to spell the word.
