To meet the immediate demand, Kenner sold a large envelope of cardboard called "the package early bird certificate" that ensured the delivery of the priority of the first four figures by the following February. In March, the first eight WWE Action figure models were available in the stores, the four following a summer with nine more on the shelves of Christmas 1978. Amazing, right? The figures, vehicles, and additional play sets were produced in conjunction with the animated cartoon series Droids and Ewoks on TV which aired as a Saturday morning kids programs.
