Pregnancy gives a beautiful feeling of joy to every woman. The 37 weeks of pregnancy is divided into three trimesters each of three months durations. The pregnant women experience different symptoms and situations during each of these stages and the baby undergoes lots of changes in terms of formation of the structure and various organs of the body. The basic tip for each and every pregnant woman is to have healthy diet, exercise, and relax physically and mentally so that health and fitness of both mother and the child could be ensured.

The duration of pregnancy from the day of conception to the 12th week of pregnancy is considered to be the pregnancy stage first trimester. Lots of precaution need to be taken during this stage as the chances of miscarriage is the maximum in this duration. The pregnant women have to especially careful about any of the factors which might trigger any kind of harm to the fetus. The precautions to be taken are -

1. Stop taking alcohol, smoking cigarettes and intake of drug completely. All these unhealthy habits have to be stopped much before one is planning for the pregnancy as even a small trace of these harmful substances could cause damage to the fetus. Slow growth, dysfunctional organs, facial distortion could be caused to the baby.
2. Stop taking the caffeine drinks like cola, chocolates, tea, coffee etc. as it could cause problems like still birth, restless of mother, respiratory problems etc.
3. Avoid taking the processed foods as the sodium nitrate is used as the additive in these foods which is carcinogenic.
4. Avoid foods of high sugary content to avoid the possibilities of gestational diabetes.
5. Without consulting the doctor, no drug should be taken by the pregnant mother

The various symptoms experienced during the pregnancy stage first trimester are fatigue, especially during the morning hour which is called morning sickness. Most of the pregnant women experience this symptom. Other symptoms are nausea, backache, headache, frequent urination. Some women even have strong desire for unusual foods. Man women experience pain in the lower abdomen and light bleeding during this stage. Any such incidents should be immediately discussed with the doctor so that it may not lead to any damage to the mother and the baby.
