Radio control helicopters are basically flight capable helicopters that can be flown using a hand held console which has an embedded transmitter in it. As such each of these helicopters is made of differently powered and can perform various different kinds of functions. As such the functions that each helicopter can perform is dependent on various aspects. These include the weight of the helicopter, Radio control helicopters – all that needs to be known about them Articles the size, the size of the rotors and the number of the control channels. These aspects can be controlled in hobby radio control helicopters but they cannot be controlled in toy helicopters because they are not open to repair and customization by the user. Toy helicopters have different control channels that can give users the option of controlling the helicopter on its three axes. They can perform various flight operations such as straight and level flight and hovering and they can also perform various acrobatics such as backwards flight, inverted flight, swoops and rolls. As such they can be extremely powerful and fast and generally are electrically powered.

Hobby radio control helicopters offer people the chance for complete customization. As such, people can buy kits and then assemble them or they can make a helicopter from the ground up individually acquiring each part that is required. As such, the latter option is for those who are extreme hobbyists and wish to enter competitions and so on for showcasing their work and possibly winning. As such, these hobby radio control helicopters can make use of various different kinds of rotors such variable pitch rotor systems, electrical fixed pitch rotor systems and also co-axial rotor systems. Apart from this, people can also make use of the different types of engines that can be used to power these models. They can choose from nitro engines which use a fuel of nitromethane and methanol, they can also use gas turbine powered engines, petrol engines and electrically powered engines. As such, according to the type of helicopter they want to build and the power and speed they need, they can make these choices so that their radio control helicopters perform exactly as envisaged.

The ranges of the helicopter and the maximum altitude that they can reach are a function of the transmitter and receiver equipment. This equipment therefore is also customizable completely. There are various small parts also that are sold by hobby stores across the country. As such, people often design and construct their own helicopters which can be made to perform various stunts and acrobatic maneuvers which may not be possible with the ready to use toy radio control helicopters.
