History of the Bank Loan

Back in the day most bank loans were called loans which are loans that are due when the bank calls and asks for repayment. Bank panics which spreads, leading to large numbers of bank failures which precipitated a large number of business failures as banks called more and more loans. The result was that the country would ascend into a recession and even the best forex trading activity could pull a nation or corporation out of it.

The public and politicians began to suspect that there was some relationship between bank failures and the onset of a recession. From the mid-1860s until the early 1900s, the economy suffered a number of serious recessions and financial panics culminating in the crash of 1907. The 1907 panic resulted in widespread bank failures, substantial losses to depositors and a crippling economic recession similar to what we have today. The public and politicians were now convinced that a central bank was needed to prevent widespread bank failures and the resulting recessions. However creating a structure for the new central bank that would be politically acceptable to the public was a challenge. The Western and agricultural states, in particular fear that the eastern industrial complex would control the central bank. As you can see the establishment of the Federal Reserve System was an uphill battle as banking magnates constructed the bill and shepherd its passing.

Today we have what is known as a hostile trading environment. Are we any better off because there is a Federal Reserve System in place? That is debatable and hotly contested as many people wish to return to a former system that we have not seen for over a century.
