The Scope of the Federal Reserve

A central bank has always been feared by the American people. The reason that people were wary of centralized power The Federal Reserve Act provided for 12 largely autonomous regional Federal Reserve banks coordinated by a Board of Governors in Washington DC. As originally conceived, each regional bank was possible for the economic needs of a particular geographic area of the country and was owned by member commercial banks in each district that bought stock in the Federal Reserve bank.

The best forex trading could occur when interest rates set were favorable for one nation's currency over another. This was the power that the Fed was trying to establish. Over the years, the goals and role of the Federal Reserve System have changed with the changing political and economic environment. Originally, the structure of the Federal Reserve System was designed to diffuse power along regional lines, between the private and government sectors and among bankers, business people, and the public at large. This structure still exists today as these district banks governed geographic boundaries. As opposed to the regional Federal Reserve banks and the primary function of the Federal Reserve is economic stabilization to the management of the nation's money supply. This is a power that the American people would have feared over 100 years ago. While those people who denounced the idea of a central bank over a century ago would have been regarded as kooks and throwbacks who were resistant to change and wanted to the a simple blue-collar life. Does this not seem to be the same rhetoric said that the American people who oppose the Fed today? That is often debatable but is of universal consensus among the people and it is funny how it is not reflected by the mouthpieces of the elite that serve as our media.
