Do you stink at getting yourself in shape?

I did and the sad part was that I was actually working out! I worked out in the gym 5 days a week….and I don’t mean going to the gym with a girlfriend and chatting half the time. No, I was going alone and doing workouts like kickboxing, spin, body pump, free weights, etc.

It seemed that as I got older,Do you stink at getting yourself in shape? Articles I felt I needed to spend more time in the gym because weight was slowly creeping up on me and it was so hard to get it off. The extra time working out did nothing. I wasn’t overweight but for as much as I was exercising I should have had the sculpted body I wanted.

So, one night I ordered P90X a few years back after seeing it on an infomercial….and I’m not a TV-stuff-ordering person. But whatever, I could return it in 30 days if it was crap. I started using it as SOON as it came in so I wouldn’t waste any of the 30 days. Within a week I noticed dramatic results I hadn’t seen in the gym.

Next came Shakeology. So, I began researching P90X results and Shakeology more and more. I was amazed at some of the transformations I saw. I had always heard people talking about P90X, Insanity, Brazil Butt Lift, Slim In 6 and several others. I hadn’t realized before this that these products were all from the same fitness company. The company is Beachbody which was founded in 1998 by Carl Daikeler and John Congdon. So my researched continued.

I found myself constantly going back to the Beachbody website and learning more and watching videos on becoming a coach. What? You can be a Beachbody coach, too? My interest was piqued so I signed up as a coach and haven’t regretted it for a second. I’m a skeptic. Definitely a leader and have never been the type to follow the herd or get sucked into anything I don’t believe in. When I joined Beachbody as a coach, you can bet I was well informed.

I love it for what it’s done to my body physically. I love the fact that I get to just share my story with others and help them get physically fit and make money doing it. It’s not a business where you have to be “salesy” and pushy. I’m not that person. I think it’s cheesy and uncomfortable when I get approached by someone trying to sell me something and I’d feel weird trying to be that person to someone else.

This is not a fitness program that claims to get you in the best shape of your life by working out for just 15 minutes a day. These workouts are about an hour long each give or take. Geez, I can blow an hour watching epic fails on YouTube! That’s crazy to think that I can’t get up off my butt and burn up a bunch of calories for an hour and actually get so much more in return! I’d rather put in the hour a day to a workout rather than spend the countless hours and money it’s going to cost to buy medicine if I become diabetic or overweight with high cholesterol and high blood pressure.

If you don’t believe me, just watch the next time you go to the grocery store, for example. If yours has a pharmacy in it, pay attention to the people in wheelchairs waiting in line for their prescriptions. Some are old but many are young, too. Pay attention to the people in the electric grocery carts or just the people we see anywhere we go who are overweight and obese. It's sad and it's common today. The solutions are easier than the lives they're currently living.
