Christmas and the New Year are behind us,Chocolate - What Better Way to Say I Love You on Valentine’s Day Articles and sales of chocolate have gone back to their regular levels after experiencing their annual boom over the Christmas period.

Next on the calendar for the retail and wholesale chocolate supplier is February the 14th – Valentine’s Day when, once again, chocolate sales can be expected to skyrocket.

Interesting Valentine’s Day Facts:
• In 2015 in the UK alone, more than £40 million was spent on Valentine’s Day cards.
• Across the country, millions of flower bouquets were bought in high street chains, local florists and garden centres.

In preparation for this date, chocolate and sweet manufactures are gearing up production to bring out as many different presentation boxes and selections in order to attract as wide an audience as possible.

Sweet Thoughts

Many people like to give that special person in their life a special gift of chocolate or a sweet assortment on Valentine’s Day – heart shaped chocolates and sweets, boxes with two entwined hearts – the variety is as endless as the imaginations of the manufacturers. Sweet shops, supermarkets and speciality shops are already placing orders with wholesale chocolate suppliers to be sure they have plenty in stock.

Sweet Luxury

Still on the sweets and chocolate theme, there are increasing numbers of luxury chocolates and assortments available to choose from. Fine truffles, decadent filled pralines, liquor filled chocolates, rich sweets made from all natural ingredients. Unique treats for that unique person. Specially produced, often in limited editions, these luxurious confections make a statement that will be heard loud and clear.

Sweet Experiments

If you want to surprise the love of your life with something a little bit unusual, then there are wholesale chocolate manufacturers who can provide distinctive Valentine’s Day gifts. Perhaps your loved one would appreciate a delicately crafted and coloured chocolate boxes filled with an assortment of fine chocolate and sweets; or perhaps a bouquet of flowers with chocolate leaves and decadent, multi coloured praline flowers. You could also go to a local artisan chocolatier and order something really special and unique – some shops can mould the names of you and your partner in fine chocolate which is then entwined in a chocolate heart and studded with handmade sweets. Alternatively you might prefer a rich cake, iced and decorated with your feelings inscribed on it.

A Note for Retailers

You know you have to be prepared well in advance for any special date or occasion. You have to decide what to stock and place your order well in advance to be sure you get what you want and enough of it. Unfortunately, your customers may not be so forward thinking. In fact, statistically, almost half of all Valentine’s Day gifts are bought either the day before or on the day itself. For the retailer, and the wholesale chocolate supplier, this can be frustrating and worrying because you’ve made an investment and then have wait for your customers until the last minute.
