In many a Providence Restaurant you can find some of the greatest food Rhode Island has available. There is plenty of delicious cuisine to be had but the key thing in Providence is finding the best dining establishments that are scattered throughout the whole city.

In many a Providence Restaurant you can find some of the greatest food Rhode Island has available. There is plenty of delicious cuisine to be had but the key thing in Providence is finding the best dining establishments that are scattered throughout the whole city. It seems like we have come to the conclusion that this city has a lot to offer the taste buds,Choosing a Providence Restaurant Part 3 Articles so now it is time to attempt to comprehend what allows some of these excellent culinary hot spots to rise above the others.

As I pointed out in the first of this series of articles, most people seem to expect that the first thing I will discuss is the food at these restaurants, but this not the case. There are so many things that compose the dining experience at a Providence Restaurant that are overlooked by lay-people. I hope that my large range of knowledge about fine foods and the restaurant industry may permit me to help shed light on the full extent of the dining event.

In my first article of this series on how to evaluate a good restaurant in Providence, I examined the initial phase of a dining experience from the importance of good restaurant name to appropriate exterior décor.  I also discussed the traits to look for in a host when you first walk through the door. Furthermore, I began to examine the various different types of eating environment one may encounter while out to eat in Providence. In the next part of this series, I will take us a little further into the restaurant.

I will discuss the menu, menu options and food presentation. Now that we have settled into the restaurant and examined our surroundings, it is time to take a look at the menu. Menu presentation is a very important part of any restaurant because it is their first opportunity to present their food to the customer. By the type of menu you can often tell a person a lot about a given restaurant. If you find yourself face to face with a glossy, multi page advertisement riddled monstrosity, you can get a pretty good idea that you are at a big chain and can expect pretty generic food. If your menu is a single page and the wine list makes up more than half of the menu, you are probably in for an expensive and fancy meal.  My personal favorite kind of menu is a compromise between these two extremes. I do not like a menu that has obnoxious glossy pictures of food but I also do not like a menu that is composed primarily of things I cannot pronounce. I like a menu that has a reasonable selection of quality foods. Some people may like the very exotic and expensive foods or they may enjoy the great deals at some of these chains but I am not a fan of either. On the subject of a things that may indicate the quality of meal you will be receiving, the complimentary bread or equivalent thing served before the meal can also give you an idea of the meal to come. I have found that if a restaurant serves fantastic bread than I will almost enjoy at least part of the meal if not the whole thing.
