Now that you are caught up, it is time for the next installment of our series.

Now that you have made your way into a new restaurant you are able to begin your observations. These observations are important because, let’s face it, there are too many restaurants out there and in order to have a favorite, you need to be picky. One of the biggest deciding factors for me is the décor of the restaurant. By décor I mean the use of colors, lighting, decorations, and their layout of choice.  Although it may not seem like something that matters, the décor inside a restaurant can sometimes determine what kind of a mood you will be in while you are having dinner there. If you are looking to have a romantic, intimate meal you will not want to go to a restaurant with bright lights, noisy bar, and booth seating. Instead, you want a place with dimmed lights, tables that are set apart from each other, tablecloths and centerpieces, and possibly even some candles set out on the tables. Now that it has been explained this way, we can move on to an even more detailed account of the impact a restaurants décor can have on dining experiences.

When searching for my Best Boston Restaurant I first identify exactly what I am actually looking for. Will I be looking for Italian food? Perhaps today will be a group outing kind of day and I want a place that can accommodate my group of fifteen people. All of these situations lead me back to my point that the décor is important! For my Italian night I am going to want to find a restaurant with neutral colors on the wall and antique looking furniture. Bonus points if they have authentic pictures of Italy and if they have some Italian music playing. All of these factors make for a dinner that makes me feel like I am sitting in a villa in Sicily.  When I am out in a large group with all of my noisy and rowdy friends I want a restaurant that has enough going on to keep the atmosphere buzzing, This means I want a place with loud music, lots of televisions playing different things, and of course lots of seating. Both situations need special attention and as you can see, both situations are affected by what the restaurant looks like on the inside.

            Till next time adventurers!
