Fresh Cut Fruit Baskets Make Perfect Gifts for All Occasions

Flowers are nice, but fresh cut fruit baskets can be a much better gift idea.

What is so special about a fresh cut fruit basket and why are they getting so much attention lately? It might have something to do with the fact that more people are trying to eat more fruit than ever before. Add to that the fact that the cost of roses and other flowers have just skyrocketed lately and have no real value beyond the sentiment and the aesthetic. But, when you give someone a gift of fruit, you are saying much more than just hey, I remembered a special occasion. You are saying that you care in a number of different ways.

A bouquet of roses or a bunch of other types of flowers shows up, gets put into a vase (or barring that, a cup or other container) and is admired and marveled at for a few minutes. Perhaps a few people may notice and remark about the roses but that is about all. A few days later, the roses start drooping and sagging. You have to start yanking the worst of the offenders out of the vase and into the trash. If you are inclined to do so, you might make some potpourri out of the petals after they dry. But, most people just chuck them out when they start looking wilted.

Fresh fruit, on the other hand, is something you can actually enjoy and share with family and friends. Depending on the size of the basket, you can serve some to your guests and have your favorites for snacks for yourself for the next few days. It is your gift basket, after all. These are usually very elegantly presented and are more breathtaking than flowers because they have the added advantage of making you feel just a little hungry whenever you look at them.

Since they can be sent anywhere, you can be on the mind of a friend or a family member many miles away, making them smile every time that they get a lovely piece of fruit to nibble on. However, there are some restrictions to the types of fruits that can be sent to certain states. Citrus fruits, for instance, may not be allowed to be sent to certain areas, but you will discuss this when you are placing your order.

If you are the person who is ordering this basket for an event or a gift giving occasion, look over your options carefully before you make the final decision. If you don’t know the person that you are sending the gift to, you may not know what their favorite fruit is, so send a wide variety. On the other hand, if you are sending a fresh cut fruit basket to a close friend or family memberArticle Search, ask that the favorites be the dominant choice.
