Some beverage companies claim that their Aseptic Contract Manufacturing processes are aseptic. However, are they really aseptic?
When a beverage manufacturer claims that they use Aseptic Contract Manufacturing processes, are they really telling the truth? Are the beverages really manufactured under hygienic conditions? Is the place where they are manufacturing the drinks free of dirt, debris, bacteria or any other type of substance that might have made its way into the beverage manufacturing zones?
Conduct An Audit If you are a client of the beverage manufacturer, you should consider conducting an audit of the manufacturing processes personally. Make sure to visit the facility to find out whether the claim of aseptic manufacturing processes is indeed true. Otherwise, it could result in the contamination of your final product. Before the contamination actually gets noticed, the drinks could have already been distributed for clinical trials and the product could ultimately be rejected by the Food and Drug Administration before it can even go into the market. Therefore, you would need to personally visit them and protect your investment.
Protect Your Investment Make sure that the beverage manufacturer is indeed using Aseptic Contract Manufacturing processes, failing which it could result in huge losses for you. Moreover, the amount of money you have spent on research and development would be a huge waste. One of the things you might want to take a look at would be the way the employees inside the manufacturing unit function. Find out whether they wear gloves and masks while producing the beverages? Are the women wearing make-up and nail polish? Do the employees wash their hands after visiting the washroom? During your visit, you can personally find out whether they are following hygiene or not.
See For Yourself Nail polish may, for instance, wear off and enter the beverages accidentally. This will end up contaminating the products. Similarly, not washing the hands would also contaminate all the products or beverages. Find out whether you are able to see anything peculiar during the production. An Aseptic Contract Manufacturing unit would generally have a seating arrangement such that there is a general and an aseptic floor, both of which would be divided from each other. Even if a worker steps on the general floor and then walks on the aseptic floor, he or she would be contaminating the entire hygienic area. Examine the entire floor without leaving a single area unexamined. Your end product should not be contaminated, which is why you should personally go through every part of the production plant.
Do Not Hesitate To Check Of course, you may feel uncomfortable examining certain parts of the production plant. However, if you examine it personally without leaving a single stone unturned, you can prevent embarrassing issues with your product later on. After all, how many minutes does it take for people to take to the social media and post negative reviews of your product in case the quality is not good enough? If the plant does not manufacture beverages hygienically, it is high time to take your investment elsewhere. So, before it is too late, make sure you check the entire unit.
Machines that fill beverages in packaging materials must be good and the Aseptic Contract Manufacturing processes must be hygienic. How do you find out whether a company claiming to be aseptic is really that?
