Whenever I am free, I browse the internet to get new information. One day while browsing as a regular activity, I typed ‘book’ in the search bar, and found various web addresses on my laptop screen.
Randomly, I clicked one of the web addresses and saw an option of restaurant table reservation. I was aware about railway reservation, flight reservation, bus reservation, and booking movie tickets online but not about restaurant table reservation. To know more about this facility I clicked on it and a whole new website got open.
The website displayed so many options like ‘select city’, ‘choose cuisine’, ‘select budget’, ‘ select hotel’ and restaurant reservation. To avail this facility user has to complete registration process so I registered myself. After the registration process, I selected my city and saw the list of restaurants. After scrolling down, I selected ‘Mexican’ among the listed cuisine. According to the cuisine that I selected, list of restaurants known for good Mexican food were displayed. I chose one of the restaurants which was recommended by many of my friends in the past. When I went for dinner, I saw a long queue of visitors waiting outside for their call. I went straight towards the reception and told the receptionist about my booking id. Within a minute, the manager took me to the dining arena, to show my table. I placed the order for a glass of red wine which was complimentary, my favourite dish and by 10 PM I paid the cheque.
Next day when I went to office I told my colleagues about this restaurant reservation facility. It was beyond their belief, so we all decided to try some new place on weekend. I opened the website and signed in. I saw one of renowned hotels had organised a Thai food festival and they were offering complimentary drinks and discount on food for lunch time. Although we had decided for dinner, but looking at this good offer I calculated amount of money that we can save and then made our reservation for Sunday lunch. We all were new for this city so we were not quite familiar with many places and their approach; to my surprise this website had an option of map navigation. I typed the name of our locality and the restaurant’s locality, within a matter of few seconds, the map was shown on screen. There was one more pop up window which was blinking continuously, I clicked on it saw that I can download an application on my mobile to receive updates about food festivals, discounts, complimentary offers and bonus points. I immediately downloaded that application on my mobile.
On Sunday my friends came to my flat and with the help of map, we reached the restaurant without any hassle. Once again I told the receptionist about my booking ID for restaurant table reservation and she showed us our table which was reserved for us. I place the order for drinks and lunch on behalf of my friends and within couple of minutes we received our food and drinks. This was a memorable Sunday!
