You have undoubtedly heard the saying there is more than one way to skin a cat.  Well the same thing applies to coffee.  There are a number of different ways you can choose to brew your coffee.  Keep reading to learn about some of your options.

When it comes to brewing coffee most people make use of a drip coffee machine.  They produce coffee very quickly and with minimal effort on your part.  All you need to do is put water and grounds inside and the machine will take care of the rest.

The main advantage of using one of these drip machines to brew coffee is the convenience it offers.  Some machines can even be programmed to have a pot already brewed whenever you wake up in the morning.  The machines do not require a lot of maintenance either.

The downside of using one of these machines is the paper filter will trap not only the coffee's sediment but also oils which make the coffee taste better.  Also,Options for Brewing Coffee Articles you should not use the hot plates on these machines because it will continue to cook it causing it to taste bitter.  Finally, it is best for you to not leave coffee grounds in the machine overnight since it will not taste as good after being exposed to the air.

Some people use a French press to make their coffee.  After the grounds are placed in the pot, hot water is poured in and allowed to sit for a little while.  To separate the coffee from the grounds, users have to push down on the plunger.

French press coffee is not for everyone though.  Some people will not like the fact it produces an ultra-strong brew.  Also, there will be no paper filter to get rid of the sediment, so some of it will most likely end up in your cup.

Another option for brewing coffee is to use a percolator.  Percolators continuously extract flavor from the grounds by repeatedly running hot water over them.  Therefore, your coffee will usually have a more bitter taste than coffee made using other methods.

There is even a relatively newer method for brewing coffee known as the cold water method.  Cold water is mixed with grounds and placed in a refrigerator overnight.  Then, the mixture is mixed with hot water to produce the coffee.

The main benefit of this method is it reduces the amount of acid in the coffee.  This is a great option for coffee-drinkers who have sensitive stomachs.  However, you will need to settle for coffee which is not quite as tasty.
