Pizza isn't just appropriate for college parties and late night snacks. Nowadays, more and more couples are choosing to serve this classic dish at their wedding reception.
Trina and Gabe were four months away from their wedding date and they were trying to come to an agreement on all of their wedding plans. They had decided on a cake,
colors, as well as their bridesmaids and groomsmen. Trina picked her maid of honor and Gabe chose his best man. She had even chosen her dress.
To most, it seemed as if they were well on their way to making all of their decisions. However, there was one thing that they couldn't come to a decision on and that was their main course. The main reason they couldn't come to this decision was because they were worried about what the wedding attendees would think about their choice. This choice was pizza.
One day, Gabe thought the idea over and came to his own conclusion. So, he called Trina up while she was at work.
"Hi, honey. I've been thinking about our decision to have pizza as our main course at the wedding and I know that we have been so worried about what people think, but I think that we need to make this decision for ourselves," he said.
Trina smiled at the other end of the phone.
"I was thinking the same exact thing," she said. "This is our day and if that's what we want to have, then that's what we will have. Not only will this be something that we both will enjoy, but it will help to save us money."
So, after they both hung up the phone, Gabe began looking around to see who would be a suitable choice to give them what they desired. He decided to choose his childhood favorite restaurant, Pizza World.
Nearly four months had passed and the day before the wedding finally arrived.
"Gabe, I've been thinking about our choice for a main dish and the fact that we haven't revealed it to anyone," said Trina. "Do you think we should tell?"
"I don't know," said Gabe. "Honestly, I'm still a little concerned about people's reactions and opinions myself. So, I think we should just keep it to ourselves."
The day of the wedding finally came and it was time for the reception. Both Gabe and Trina were extremely nervous as they worried about the big reveal of their main dish. After a few moments had passed, it was finally time to eat.
"Well, everyone," said the host. "Our chef is now going to bring out our mystery meal."
When the pizza was brought out, it seemed as if the room grew still for a few moments as everyone was staring in silence. Trina looked at their reactions and wanted to pass out. Almost at the point of tears, she suddenly looked up as she heard laughter. When she raised her head she saw everyone smiling, laughing, cheering, and applauding. Then, one of her high school friends walked over to her.
"Trina, I am so glad you chose pizza," she said. "This is the coolest wedding ever."
