Just as there are different ways to skin a cat,Popular Ways to Prepare Coffee Articles there are many ways to prepare coffee.  The particular way you choose to prepare yours will depend on your tastes.  It will also depend on your schedule since different methods can be more time consuming.

In America, the most popular way to prepare coffee is with the aid of an automatic drip machine.  There are fewer ways that are as easy.  More advanced designs even offer timers so you can have a fresh pot of coffee waiting for you whenever you wake up in the morning.

Some people would rather drink espresso instead.  In order to do this you would need an espresso machine, which is a bit more costly than your typical drip coffee machine.  Espresso is thicker and has a stronger flavor than standard coffee because of the high amount of pressure used to extract the flavor from grounds.

Some say that the best way to prepare coffee is to use a French press.  However, this requires a bit more manual work on your part although the process is very simple.  You simply need to brew your coffee grounds and water at the bottom of a cylindrical glass jug and use a plunger to separate the grounds from the brewed beverage.

Back in the day, plenty of people used a percolator to prepare their coffee.  However, using one is not nearly as popular nowadays since there are much better ways to brew better tasting coffee.  Some people still prefer to use their percolator though, especially if they enjoy the aroma that it emits.  Percolators are also very portable, so people who spend a lot of time outdoors still use them since it does not depend on using electricity.

A final way to prepare coffee is to use a vacuum pot.  There will be two chambers with a filter separating them.  The top chamber will house the coffee grounds while the lower one will contain the water.  As the water in the bottom chamber heats up it will mix with the coffee grounds up top.  The mixture will filter back down into the lower chamber after that heat is taken away.  Vacuum brewed coffee tastes a bit stronger than coffee produced in a drip machine.  However, it is not a strong as coffee made in a French press.

There are a few other ways to prepare coffee.  However, these are some of the most popular ways.
