India,Top 5 Street Foods Which Will Leave You Craving for More Articles a country, where diversity is an asset, also sees diversity in its food. However, its mouth-watering, tangy, tasty street food is something which finds no match across the globe. No matter in which part of India you are, food mongers could be seen making a beeline to different street stalls. Now, let’s count the top 5 street foods:

1) Pani Puri: This snack is a national favourite. Across the country, people have been making queue in front of the stall to get the tasty water being put in a crunchy shell. The water has a tangy flavour as tamarind, lemon and pepper are mixed into it. The shell is a puffed dough filled up with mix of potato, chickpeas, coriander and green chillies. Just dip the shell into the spicy water and relish the uncommon taste!

2) Aloo Chaat: This street food is made up of potato with a chutney-salad sauce. A filler between lunch and dinner, it is very easy to make. All you need to do is to boil a potato, cut it and then mix it in a bowl with tamarind or mint chutney, chopped tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, puffed rice and peanuts/pomegranate seeds.

3) Pav Bhaji: This is bun bread served with a saucy vegetable paste. It could either be eaten as lunch, dinner, or a snack depending on how many pavs, or pieces of bun-bread, you can eat at one go. First, the bun bread is slathered with butter, fresh from the Indian dairies and then eaten with a spicy blend of vegetables in tomato gravy.

4) Bhel Puri: Bhel Puri comprises a spicy mix of small poppadums. It originated from the streets of Mumbai and went global soon due to its taste. Bhel, is more like poppadums, however, it exists in smaller crunched-up forms. The only thing you need to do it to mix bhel with puffed rice and sev (chickpea flour noodles). Then you add chopped tomatoes, onions and coriander. Now, sprinkle salt and chilli powder and slather it with green/mint chutney. It makes a delicious dish!

5) Papri Chaat: This is a mix of fried dough wafers with spices and chutney. Crispy fried dough wafers are smothered with chaat. Now you can lick the chutney along as the dough wafers get covered with a sweet green chutney and yoghurt.
