  • Duct Tape: It can be useful to save your plants and trees. Wrap the tape around the trunk with the sticky side outwardly. It will stick all the ants.
  • Garlic, Onion and Pepper mix: Keep the mixture of 1quart water, 1tablespoon cayenne pepper, 1onion and 1 garlic clove for an hour. Now mix in liquid dish wash soap. And your spray is ready.
  • Instant Grits: Use one tablespoon to sprinkle over the ant mounds. They have a dominating effect on forcing the ants to abandon their mounds.
  • Table Salt: It is the safest remedy to keep ants away. Make line, circle or any shape to prevent them from crossing the area of salt.
  • Jelly Mixed with Borax:Mix jelly with borax in equal measurement. Keep this in the area, where you know ants will come. Please, do take care to keep it in a place inaccessible to children.
    • Cucumber Peels: Cucumber peel can be used as an excellent ant repellent. Put it in the areas affected by ants and you will notice that they will disappear in no time.
    • Glass Cleaner with Liquid Dish Wash Soap: The equal mixture of both can be sprayed on the ant affected areas of your house. Keep in mind that it must not be sprayed on the surfaces, which can be damaged with the use of soaps or ammonia.
    • Vinegar: Vinegar, like apple vinegar or normal white vinegar can be efficient to kill the ants. Due to its fungicidal and insecticidal properties, vinegar helps in eradicating ants.
    • Plantation of Mints: You can grow mint trees like catmint, peppermint and spearmint encircling your home. The smell of mint destroys the smelling capabilities of ants with the help of which they reach to their food source.
    • Dried Mint: Simply sprinkle the dried mint at the doors, entryways and garbage areas to get rid of ants.
    • Mint-oil Spray: The essential oil is also found in mint aroma. This is easily available in the market. Just get it and spray to disinfect the areas from ants.
    • Ant-powder: You can sprinkle tartar cream, chilli powder, powdered chalk, powdered cleanser, talcum powder and cinnamon thoroughly. Ants can never enter areas , influenced by their smell.
    • Molasses Paste: This paste is made from 1/3 cup molasses, 6 tablespoon sugar (granulated), and 6 tablespoon active and dry yeast. Stir till they become smooth and nicely blended. Place the mixture in very small portion where ants are frequent.
    • Borax: Borax is basically a laundry detergent, which also contains the unrefined form of boric acid. Borax can serve as a stomach poison also. Mix 20 borax of mule team type along with sugar water. Ants will carry the borax to their nest and this will kill them.

    Persistence is the key when trying natural ant control remedies. If one of these methods doesn't work for you, then try another. You may need to repeat it a few times.
