A Gallbladder Cleansing Process

After losing 30 pounds in seven weeks, I've learning a lot about living with gallstones. In this post I'll discuss a non-surgical "gallstones cleansing process" I've learned about.

In an earlier I article I wrote about how I've been dealing with gallstones over the last few months, mostly trying to find a way to live with gallstones without going in for surgery to have my gallbladder removed. I've had several surgeries before, so I'm not too concerned about the surgery, but having read the after-effects of people who have had their gallbladder removed, I don't want to go down that road unless I have to.

During my research I've read a great deal about a "Gallbladder cleansing" processes, and I'm going to give this cleansing process a try later this week. Here's how this process works.

Disclaimer: Before going on, I think it's also important to state that I'm not a doctor, I'm just a person trying to live with gallstones, and this is something I want to try. Most websites don't mention this, but it's extremely important to note that this process can lead to a condition known as "bilary colic", which is extremely painful and potentially dangerous. Since I've already dealt with these side effects (losing 30 pounds of body weight in the process), I'm personally okay with this risk, but if you're having severe gallbladder or gallstones problems, you really need to see a doctor.

The gallstones cleansing process

While there are a number of different gallbladder cleansing processes, they all seem to come from Edgar Cayce's original advice many years ago, and they go something like this:

  1. Eat only apples (preferably organic apples) for three days. It looks like you can eat different types of apples, applesauce, and apple juice.
  2. Drink lots of water each day, preferably room temperature or warm water. For some reason cold water is not good for you. I prefer a little lemon juice in my water, so that's what I'm going to use, room temperature water with lemon juice.
  3. On the end of the third day, take at least two tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil. Some people suggest taking much more than this, something like half a cup of olive oil with one-third cup of lemon juice. I'm not sure which way I'm going to go with this yet, as I want to do more research.

With luck, the next morning this process is supposed to help you pass some of your gallstones. The theory is that when you don't eat fats for several days, your liver and gallbladder will store up bile, and then when you suddenly add in fat in the form of the olive oil, your gallbladder will suddenly release the bileBusiness Management Articles, and hopefully your gallstones.
