Not only do they tend to be higher in latex proteins, the powder may also be suspended in the air, causing contact with the mucous membranes and accelerating the onset of allergic reactions.

When choosing your latex exam gloves, always keep in mind that an allergic reaction to latex is not only difficult to deal with, it is also expensive for everyone that is involved. That is another reason why you should not go with cheap gloves and even if you keep a variety of gloves available, including safeskin powder-free nitrile gloves, everybody will be able to be safe and secure in their work environment. There are also some specialty gloves, such as shoulder length or elbow gloves which will also be able to help those with latex sensitivities as well.
