Are You at Risk of Stroke?A stroke happens when there is an artery in your brain that becomes clogged or bursts. This then cuts off your oxygen to the brain. The tissues of the brain that are not getting proper oxygen will die within only a few minutes. When this happens you will find that the brain cells of the part of your body that is damage will not work properly. There are a few different things that might
put you at an increased risk of having a stroke. These include but are not
limited to atherosclerosis, high blood pressure, and any fatty plaque buildup
that occurs in the arteries. There are several different causes for having a
stroke. These are cerebral embolism, hemorrhage If you have a clot that is clogging your artery and it has been built up in the artery of the brain this is called cerebral thrombosis. This is known to be the cause of stroke that is most common. This accounts for around forty to even sixty percent of the strokes that happen. The onset of this type of stroke is gradual. When you have blockage that is because of a thrombus in your artery this is known as cerebral thrombosis. You will find the onset of this type of stroke is sudden and this is due to the fact that there is an interruption in your brain from blood flow. The amount of strokes that are caused this way is around 35 percent. If you have bleeding or hemorrhaging this is because of a blood vessel that has ruptured. This is usually from an artery found in your brain. Many times this type of stroke is found with high blood pressure. When this happens the recovery is found to be a great bit slower than with other strokes and is more common once you have reached 50. This is also known to happen most often during the day when a person is being active and it is found to account for around 25 percent of the strokes.Source: Free Articles from ArticlesFactory.com
