To increase the chances of success of in vitro fertilization (IVF), researchers advise women engaged in the process of assisted reproductive technology with the aim of having a baby, to follow a Mediterranean diet/ IVF diet, which has already proven itself on cardiovascular health and cancer.


Best food to eat during IVF Treatment-


They indeed studied the effects of a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, legumes, fish and olive oil and otherwise poor in red meat on the probability of having a baby via in vitro fertilization (IVF).


Overall, almost all women (93.6%) to whom an embryo was transferred, 56% had successful implantation, 42.6% became pregnant and 40.5% gave birth to a healthy baby.


A study of 244 participants-


In the study, among the 244 participants aged 22 to 41, those who consumed more "Mediterranean" foods were 65 to 68% more likely to get pregnant and give birth to a baby compared to women who consumed little of this type of products, reports the study.

A positive effect for women under 35-
Compared to women who ate the most "Mediterranean" foods (86), the least adept (79) were almost 50% less likely to get pregnant (29% versus 50%) and to have a baby (26, 6% versus 48.8%), according to the study which finds this positive effect only for women under 35 years of age.
Factors like hormonal changes, age, and reduced availability of eggs for fertilization may mask the benefits of the diet, which should not be overlooked by older women, say the researchers. Let’s learn about the best foods to eat during IVF implantation.

Obese women don't get this benefit-
