When I was a kid, memorizing stuff was a pain in all the wrong places. As I child, I felt that the entire world is out, gathered in a conspiracy, plotting against me and as a part of some devious plot to get me, threw mathematical tables and essays in my face.

My parents and teachers were the unwitting foot soldiers of this diabolical conspiracy and were relentlessly insistent on me memorizing the same. But somehow, I realized that there was something about my brain that could take all this pressure. Somehow, somewhere I was doing something right to improve my memory power. Slowly I began to realize that it was my mom’s firm decision to make me consume cod liver oil come hell or high water, which was responsible for this.

As I grew into a sharp minded child, obviously ahead of my class (even if I may say so myself) I realized one thing. This was not something that other kids were doing. Most of my friends, knew about cod liver oil but would start convulsing in the throes of ignorance the moment I mentioned it. Many of them cited excuses like it smells bad or it tastes bad or after you consume it you get smelly burps etc. All I knew that since I’ve been consuming it, I’ve always stayed sharp and somehow I never realized what makes cod liver oil so beneficial until I realized I didn’t have an answer when somebody asked me. So I decided to do some research of my own. o    Vitamin D: as it is popularly known that this vitamin is responsible for the improvement and strengthening of your bone

·         Omega-3 Fatty Acids: symptoms of ailments like arthritis can be considerably relieved due to the anti-inflammatory nature of Omega-3 Fatty Acids, in addition to this, brain functions can be improved, stress and allergies can be rpevented and even scary ailments like asthma can be relieved. Apart from these benefits, Omega-3 fatty acids help tackle learning and behavioral disorders like the bipolar syndrome

·         EicosaPentaenoic Acid (EPA): beneficial for your cardiovascular system and reduces inflammation throughout the body. Works great as a natural anti-depressant.

·         DocosaHexaenoic Acid (DHA): is a fatty acid which is essential and necessary for good eyesight, a healthy nervous system, and good skin health

With all these benefits, I believe that my parents helped me fight the conspiring world and helped my rise to the top of my class despite all the challenges I faced on my way to improve memory power.
