Panic attacks are scary occurrences that can occur at any time right out of the blue. Many people suffer from these frightening events and don't know how to make them stop. However,Don't Let Panic Attacks Ruin Your Life Articles the good news is that you can stop having panic attacks if you just learn a few simple tricks. After learning the tricks, they have to be repeated through every episode until the attacks end.

First, panic attacks usually have some warning signs. A person can usually tell when one is about to happen. Maybe your breathing gets very shallow or your heart rate speeds up or your pulse races. Learn to distinguish your symptoms so you can tell when one is about to start. The sooner you know it is starting, the sooner you can make it stop.

Second, once an attack begins, try to remain as calm as possible. Learn to breathe through the attacks.  Take a very deep breath and hold your breath for ten seconds. Then, exhale slowly to control your breathing. Focus on counting to ten and your breathing. This keeps you in control of the situation because you are controlling the breathing. This takes power away from the feelings of panic.

Third, listen to the voice inside your own head. Keep telling yourself that everything is going to be okay. Nothing is actually happening except feelings of panic. You are not in any danger. Remind yourself that you can breathe through the attack and everything will be fine in a very short time. Once you start listening to your own reassuring messages, you can control the fear. Panic will not occur when you feel you’re in control.

These tips are very useful to panic attack sufferers. The trick is to use these techniques every single time a panic attack begins. Soon, you will find that you do not experience the events as often, and then they will disappear all together. The key factor in these types of attacks is control. As long as you feel in control, whether through breathing or self talk, you will not let the panic control you. Thus, you will stop having panic attacks.
