Every other day one hears about or reads about a new fad diet in the papers,Eating your blood type diet has a variety of pros Articles on web portals, TV channels, radio shows, etc. People are more fitness and health conscious than ever before and they are trying to do everything in order to attain good health and the perfect body. Sometimes, in the process to get a great body shape, people go to extreme lengths end up being satisfied in the short run but not in the long run. They starve themselves and consume foods they hate thanks to some new food plan they stumbled up on which supposedly works wonders, go under the knife for the much desired look or do strenuous and rigorous physical exercises in the gym. All of these are good for short term benefits but fall flat in the long run.

A really good food plan which has a host of long term benefits but is not as popular as other food plans is the blood type diet. Eating your blood type is said to be quite effective and helpful to strengthen and fortify the body in various senses. This food plan may not be as well known as say the Dukan or the Atkins one, but it is nevertheless as good as or even better than them. Eating your blood type has been recommended by the author of the prolific book, Eat Right 4 Your Type, Peter D’Adamo.

This food plan recommends different kinds of food intake habits to people of varied blood groups such as A, B, AB and O. The theory that this diet is based on is that people are divided on the basis of their blood group, each of which has specific bodily needs which a common food plan cannot fulfil. Thus a group specific diet works for the best and gives the body the necessary nutrition it needs considering the bodies’ distinct characteristics, strengths and weaknesses.

Talking specifically about the AB blood type diet, people who have AB cells running through them ought to consume foods like, tofu, different kinds of vegetables and varied varieties of fish. This group of people has it somewhat easier than those belonging to other groups as they have lesser restrictions in their AB blood type diet. They should however exercise portion control and eat at a less to moderate frequency. The kinds of foods that they need to avoid at all costs include corn, buckwheat, tomatoes, processed foods contain refined sugars, red meat, kidney and lima beans, seeds and wheat so as to ensure weight loss and stay lean and energetic.

These foods will further intensify the weak points of the AB group people which include diseases and disorders such as low levels of stomach acid, asthma, frequent infections and excess mucus in the stomach. People belonging to the AB category are a combination of type “A” and “B” and tend to be pessimistic, philosophical and overly analytical to the point of putting themselves through excess stress and suffering from lack of sleep.
