LOOK AT YOUR DIET

Many useful books and articles have been published about how your diet can improve or aggravate your tinnitus, depending on whether you eat the right or wrong kind of food.

But before you do that, there are a couple of simple steps you can take with regard to what you eat and drink.

Cut down on the caffeine.

Most of us drink tea, coffee and coke on a regular basis.  We all know that caffeine is a stimulant but it is a little known fact that it can aggravate your tinnitus.

Caffeine increases the heart rate and the flow of blood around the body.  This in turn can cause the volume of your tinnitus to increase, especially if you are one of the sufferers who can hear your own heartbeat very loudly in your ears.

Salt and sugar are other culprits.  If you have a diet containing too much salt or sugar, the blood level concentrates of both of these increases and has an effect on the fluids in your inner area.  This in turn can aggravate your tinnitus.

So at the very least, you need to cut down on the caffeine and make sure that you have a sensible intake of sugar and salt. 

There are plenty of caffeine free drinks available now and sugar and salt substitutes are common place.
