Teeth implant is a surgery for the treatment of replacing the missing, decayed or broken teeth.

Dental implant is also referred to as artificial fixed tooth replacement. As people lose teeth due to various reasons such as age, injury or any other kind of disease, these dental implants have become very much popular. Earlier, an option considered by many people for missing teeth replacement was a fixed bridge or a denture, but these days most people prefer a dental implant. The implants are made of titanium & alloys as it is such a material which is easily tolerated by the bones of the mouth and it gets integrated in the bone tissue easily.

When a teeth implant is placed, the dental surgeon assures that a close contact with the outer area of the implant and the bone around the teeth is obtained. Generally, the dentists examine dental health of the patient before recommending implant operation.  If teeth of the patient show any signs of decay, swelling or any other gum disease, the dentist treats this first. It can be said that if one plans to go for an implant operation, then one has to undergo various tests and examinations such as CT scan, X-rays and bone quality check.

Process of Dental Implant Surgery

First of all, the gum area where the implant needs to be placed is cut and lifted up and then a small-sized hole as per the implants dimensions is drilled into the jawbone at the area specified for the implant. Then the titanium implant is fitted tightly to the socket and after this the gum is stitched back over the teeth implant. Once an implant is placed, it is given enough amount of time to heal up and integrate with the jawbone. This time span usually differs from three to eight months, depending on the hardness or softness of the bone tissue.

Cost Guidelines for Teeth Implants

The cost of a dental implant usually comes out to be about 30,000/-INR to 45,000/-INR. As this is the general cost involved, this cost can reach to about 60,000/-INR, depending on the dental health of the patient, the requirement for gum restoration and various other factors.  The additional costs that might increase the overall price of the surgery include the X-ray costs, the number of crowns that have to be placed and the possibility of usage of a synthetic bone material in the implant operation.

All the steps that fall in this implant surgery and are considered to contribute to the total cost are initial consultation fee, requirement of sinus lifts or bone grafting, placement of abutment and placement of the crown.

It can be said that the ones who are considering teeth implant as an option, must consider the entire cost involved before reaching to any conclusion.
