One of the objectives of mammograms is identifying breast cancer during its onset stage to prevent undergoing mastectomy. But a recent Norwegian research recommends that mastectomy rates soar higher as more females go through the monitoring check-up disregarding of the Canadian drugs they are taking.

"Since the introduction of screening is associated with more than 50 percent increase in breast cancer rates,More Mammograms Could Lead to Canada Prescriptions Intake Articles some of these women are treated by mastectomy," said study author Pal Suhrke, a doctoral candidate in the Pathology Department at Oslo University Hospital. "For many, these results are surprising and disappointing because one might suspect that due to earlier detection of tumors, the number of women needing mastectomies would decrease."

Suhrke and his associates discovered that the country's yearly mastectomy rate increased by 9 percent in females aged from 50 to 69 who were invited for a screening.  On the contrary, mastectomy rates dropped by 17 percent in non-participating females aged from 40 to 49 and 13 percent in non-participating females aged from 70 to 79.  At this stage, doctors may prescribe patients to buy Evista in order to lower the chance of getting a breast cancer after menopause.

"I think it's true, if you screen more you're going to find more cancers. That ultimately should lead to better survival for these patients," said Dr. Stephanie Bernik, Chief of Surgical Oncology at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. "Mastectomy is not as dreadful a choice as it used to be."

Bernik warned that the significance of the Norwegian research isn't that females shouldn't get checked.  While mammograms do identify some early-stage cancers that would not develop, and those females undergo treatment still – "you can't pick and choose which ones are going to be a problem or not and so there is going to be an element of overtreatment," Bernik stated.

"I think we should continue screening and work toward ways of potentially trying to figure out who needs more extensive surgery," Bernik added.  Though there might be a need to visit Canadian drugstore online for some medications.
