One of the most exciting new winter sports I’ve come across this year is Airboarding. It’s probably the most excited I’ve been and the most fun I’ve had since I was a kid. It completely takes you back to your childhood. Me and my buddies were screaming with laughter just at how fun and simple and exciting it was. Basically,A Great New Winter Sport-Airboarding Articles it’s just a vamped up version of the old winter sled you might have had when you were a kid. It’s kind of like an inflatable body board and you ride it the same way. It’s got channels cut into the bottom of it so you can totally rail on turns or come to a full stop when you need to, and you will definitely need to because this thing picks up speed fast. Its pretty easy to control though, you can start by just doing nice big slow turns. Once you get the hang of like two or three turns you'll start feeling safe and become a mad screaming dive bomber. The thing weighs like only five or six lbs so it’s pretty easy to haul around.

I’m not sure where exactly it started but I know for a fact that they have it in ski resorts in Europe, where it is taking off. Out West, I know that Aspen is giving it a test run and so is Sugar Bowl in Cali. The only place in the East that is giving it a shot is Smugglers Notch in Vermont. Anyway, it’s mega-fun.
