So you just had your baby and made a decision to stay home,How to set up a Stay at home mom business on the internet Articles what about the income you had to forego? Have you thought of setting up a home based internet business, so that you could work at home using the internet? Here is my story of how I started my internet business as a stay at home mom.

Starting an internet business is simple but it still requires hard work, but the rewards and satisfaction is not what an office job can give you.

1. Join an affiliate marketing service. The easiest to earn an internet income is to join an affiliate marketing service. What is affiliate marketing? You get paid to sell other people's products. One thing that is beneficial about being an affiliate marketer is you never have to handle the product that you actually sell. You don't even have to collect the money. All of this is done for you by the affiliate merchant. Your job is to market the affiliate product and sell it. This creates an excellent opportunity for moms to start their own home businesses because they can focus on being Internet marketers and not many of the other things that go with being a business owner in many instances.

When you join any affiliate marketing such as Clickbank, you will be given a link where you can use it to promote the website. However, the disadvantage is that you cannot do any amendments to the webpage. You also cannot add other links to the same webpage, and therefore limits the amount of products you can promote. And sending people an affiliate link with some numbers encoded, may lead them not to click on it. Therefore, if you are serious in building an internet business, you should get a website of your own, perhaps a domain name that is named after you. This can subsequently build a brand name for you. There are many webhosting services, some are free, but you should get one that is reliable, and offers good support.

2. Set aside your hours. Whatever your schedule, you should be able to work into your children’s schedule. You could use the wee hours in the morning or use the late hours. At first you could be overwhelmed by information overload, making you confused and discouraged. Many distractions are there in the internet, asking you to “buy this, try that, guaranteed…” but you need to stay calm. Instead you should seek out a mentor by observing people’s reviews on their services, testimonials, before plunging in. Send an email to someone you think would be able to help you and see whether there is any reply. I sent an email to my sponsor in UK, she replied and she assisted me in my website keyword research and things started to move. Before that, I was lost and kept procrastinating.

3. Take action. You should spend a week or two just reading up some free ebooks (download and get them printed and bind up, so that you can read anywhere, on a bus, or on your bed) You could highlight important information and read a few more times. Personally, I have about 20 ebooks downloaded into books that I refer to regularly. Each reading refreshes and strengthens my knowledge, and give me more confidence to manage my website. Next take action, it could be writing articles, doing a keyword research, or submitting your website to search engines or building links. Do whatever it is necessary to promote your website, and when you see the statistics increase on your website, it can make your day!

4. Persevere. Rome is not built in a day; so similarly, building an internet business takes time, and action, and perseverance. Just like a construction project, you see nothing in the first few months, because the workers are laying the foundation many basements deep. Once the foundation is firm, the buildings go up, up and up. So in the same way, your income can only come in when you have done the work in the first few months. So do not be disheartened, or cancel your subscription or hosting services. You could lose a lifetime of income this way.

It is my hope that I can share my journey to success in my blog http://www.supermom-workfromhome.blogspot.com and hopefully offer you shortcuts and lessons learnt. You can set up a successful internet business if you believe in yourself, and stay focused for a year or so.
