Many people will tell you that the easiest and fastest way to earn money online through affiliate marketing is to purchase their program and watch the money come rolling in! Really now!! If it was so easy, why are they (the majority – NOT all) selling this method to you?

In affiliate marketing, you sign up for an affiliate program after which you will be given a special link that is unique to only you. You will put this link in your site, your blog or an email and then encourage people to click on it. If the person who clicks the link eventually buys the product or service being sold, then you get a percentage or a commission of the total sale. Affiliate commissions go from 30% to as high as 90% of the total cost of the product or service.

To get atarted in affiliate marketing, all you have to do is sign up with any of the free affiliate sites such as Clickbank, (NEVER pay to be an affiliate!) choose a product to promote, then start promoting it via web sites, blogs and email. The best thing about affiliate marketing is that you can promote an unlimited number of products and services.

One absolutely FREE method of promoting your chosen product is through blogs. Blog marketing is easy and free. Once you have chosen your product and received your affiliate link, you simply write on your blog promoting the product and then submit your blog to directories or by writing articles with a link to your blog in them. There are many free blog sites available including Wordpress and Blogger. People read your blog, click on your affiliate link and if they buy the product – you receive a commission!

While this is somewhat simplified, in a nut shell, that's all there is to affiliate marketing through blogging! Affiliate marketing through blogs is only one of perhaps hundreds of way to use affiliate marketing. There is Article Marketing, PPC, Viral Marketing and many other methods. Often it is a combination of several methods that will really start you on the path to earning a large income on the internet.

Many people who are considering affiliate marketing, do some research on the field and find hundreds of programs and people that promise them they will make thousands in a matter of months.
