Tile is a unique building material,Add some sparkle to your kitchen Articles yet generally quarantined to kitchens. Deciding what tile to use in this area is a sober consideration. Perhaps your current kitchen tile has lain fallow too long and you yearn to sow some sophistication. Those next seedlings of chic could come from sparkly tile. Embedded with chips of granite and mirror, sparkle tiles can create effects of illumination and three dimensional spaces within your kitchen. Sparkly tiles reflect the light in the room, enlivening areas that may otherwise seem small or off-path. With a variety of colours and styles, a calculated mixture of these tiles can jazz up your kitchen with minimal effort.

Galaxy granite is a popular form of sparkle tile; jet black with glittery star points of white. Installed, galaxy granite tiles suggest walking onto the star dust of space or of planets orbiting only inches beyond your countertop appliances. Black has always been stitched within the fibres of contemporary, but it can seem oppressive in a social space like a kitchen. The starry reflection of galaxy granite reduces an emotion that may otherwise come from all black tile work.

Of course, these sparkle tiles provide a peacock of other choices. Various colours can be used for creative experimentation, particularly as kitchen wall tiles. Seen at eye level, these kitchen wall tiles become the artwork of the kitchen. And holding sparkly tiles in place is an aesthetic option itself. Glitter grout comes in a variety of colours to create spectacular contrasts with tile work. Consider flanking more conservative sparkly tiles with a bolder glitter grout. In a room where so much warmth is stolen by stern appliances, well placed sparkle tiles can be the throw pillows of a countertop.

Strong sparkle tiles can be a centrepiece themselves. These can be strategically isolated upon the floor and flanked by less intense sparkle or regular tiles. This works particularly well when tiles you fell in love with are too bold for a complete cover. Robust and alone, these tiles act as centrepieces for gathering points in your kitchen.

Beyond these bolder statements, sparkle tiles can come in muted tones. Earth-toned sparkle tiles can achieve an American South-western look, working well alongside glass mosaic tiles with thematic artwork. With imagination and experimentation, sparkle tiles bring a kitchen to display a powerful thumbprint of personality.

While sparkle tiles may cost slightly more than regular tiles, their stylistic investment pays dividends. Kitchens are the hearts of our homes; oxygenating the rest of the house through not only their social function of gathering and cooking, but through their style. So be warned while your new kitchen is at work. The bathroom, after all, is waiting.
