Hardwood floors are a more stylish and durable flooring choice than many of the alternatives.  Additionally, you will see a lot of benefits regarding the care and wear and tear of these floors compared to, for instance, carpet.

Finally, you'll have to make sure that you find the right species of wood for you.  There are a wide variety of hardwood floor species on the market, and you should be able to find one that will look great in your home and match your price range.  You shouldn't feel restricted to normal hardwood floor species – depending on where you shop, you can also purchase more exotic hardwood species.
