Baking soda works like magic. Sprinkle baking soda on your carpet before vacuuming. A paste of baking soda and water can be made and applied directly to the stain. After about twenty minutes, remove the paste and blot with a damp sponge or cloth.

A mild dish washing liquid or household detergent may used if stain is not removed completely, applies liquid dishwasher detergent. Make sure that the detergent is free of bleaching agents. Mix one teaspoon of the detergent in two cups of warm water. Dip a clean cloth in the mixture and apply strokes on the stained area in a gentle manner. Now, rinse the carpet by applying warm water.

Rubbing or denatured alcohol is another excellent household stain fighter. Saturate a cloth or cotton ball with the alcohol and blot until the stain is removed. Rinse by blotting with a clean damp towel.
