Choosing the Perfect Clawfoot Bathtub

There are several different options that are available to you whenever you are choosing a clawfoot bathtub.  Knowing the options ahead of time can make it easier for you to decide.

There are 5 different types of clawfoot bathtubs for you to choose from.  The most basic type, or classic, is going to be rounded on one end with the water typically flowing into the opposing end.  The slipper tub is going to be raised on one side, giving you a comfortable place to rest and the double slipper tub will be raised on either side, with the water typically flowing into the center of the tub from over the edge.  A double ended tub is going to be rounded on both ends, without being raised and the pedestal tub will be seated on a pedestal instead of one individual claw feet.

Choosing an antique clawfoot bathtub can give you a very classic look to your bathroom, along with providing you a very pleasant place to relax and read.  Some of the more modern clawfoot tubs are made of acrylic and they may also have the antique look, but there are also some that can easily fit into a more modern decor.  Both the antique and the modern clawfoot tubs can provide you with a very comfortable bathing experience.

The clawfoot bathtub fixtures are also a very important part of it, and they can change the entire look of the tub, depending on the ones that you choose.  Many times, people will choose the accessories to match the finish of the feet, so they are typically gold, silver, nickel or brass.  You can also choose these accessories to be more classic in design or moderate, depending on the tub that you choose.
