Metal cutting snips are also a good thing to have as cutting metal is not as easy as cutting regular asphalt or wood shingles.

Know which type of metal roofing you wish to install. There’s R-panel roofing and V-crimp roofing, so do your research and figure out which you want to use before you learn how to install metal roofing. Unless you are installing the metal roof over top of your current roof, make sure to remove all of the old roofing materials. Then place roofing felt or tar paper down before moving forward with the installation.

Install the edging first and then move to the main panels. Take your time and never force any pieces that don’t seem to fit.
