Floor cleaning is an invaluable commodity,Floor Cleaning - What's Lurking on Your Floor? Articles one that you simply should not forget about investing in. From residential floors to those in schools or businesses, everyone knows there is dirt down there. Do you know what kind of dirt, though? While there is definitely debris there, chances are good you will find bacteria, mold and even viruses. Think about how many times a day your walk on various types of floors, with or without shoes on. Are you comfortable with how clean your floors are?

Why Floor Cleaning Really Is Valuable

When it comes to cleaning your carpeting, tile or wood, you probably invest in a traditional broom and mop. It makes sense. However, when a floor looks clean, that does not necessarily mean it is clean. Look at some of what can be on your home's floors and then determine if in fact, that mop is enough.

• It's not that you don't maintain your floors. In fact, that is rarely the case at all. What is the case is that most floors come in contact with shoes that were outside of the home. When you walk into the home with shoes on, you bring dirt, debris and germs with you.

• In one study, the germs on the participants' shoes were noted. The amount of average bacteria on the shoes in these instances was more than 400,000 units. That's both on the inside and the outside of the shoe.

• In that same study, E. coli was found on the shoes of some of the participants. It is thought as one of the most deadly of all bacteria, in fact.

• Pets bring in illness as well. It is quite common for pets to come into contact with viruses and bacteria outdoors. They can bring those in and easily track them through your home. The result is a highly contaminated floor.

• In some situations, chemicals can also play a role in what is on the floors in your home. This also plays a role in what you come into contact with in a business, too.

In fact, in a business, the amount of bacteria and other substances that can be tracked through the business will increase dramatically since there is a higher level of traffic. More people mean more problems. Floor cleaning really is a vital component, then, to keeping your area clean and safe for anyone who comes into contact with it.

When it comes to floor cleaning, whether in a home or in a business context, it is critical to do a good job. A traditional mop really only pushes the dirt around and rarely does anything to actually remove the risks. It is a good idea to call on a professional company to manage the actual cleansing of the floors. Floor cleaning professionals, in fact, can help you to create a surface that you can be proud to use, and one you know is clean.
