Get Tough Stains Out of Your GroutIt is often difficult to get out grout stains with regular bathroom cleaners. Sometimes you need something stronger to get the job done. Sometimes, if you let too much tine go by in between cleanings, you can get bad stains in your grout. Sometimes scrubbing with an over the counter bathroom cleaner and a scrub brush just isn’t enough. You need to try something a little more intense to get the grout back to its original white color. I recommend Oxiclean grout cleaner. Oxiclean is an oxygen based bleach and I think it does a great job at removing tough stains form tile grout. Oxiclean is an oxygen bleach rather than chlorine bleach. Clorox is an example of chlorine bleach and is very different from the oxygen based bleach I am recommending. The chlorine bleach is toxic and gives off toxic fumes. While you still wouldn’t want to ingest it, Oxiclean does not give off any toxic fumes and is considered non toxic. One of the best grout cleaning tips to follow is to use something less toxic if at all possible when cleaning your grout both for your own safety, and for the integrity of the grout lines. Too many harsh chemicals can degrade the grout too quickly. The product comes as a powder and is useless unless it is activated with warm or hot water. You can use cold water, but the product is not as effective. Mix some of the powder with hot water and then put the resulting paste on the grout lines and let it sit for about ten to twenty minutes. The resulting bubbles are oxygen that is working to clean your grout. Wipe away the result with a damp cloth and you will see amazingly clean tile grout lines.
