A substantial amount of time to do it! Rushed high pressure cleaning is never a good idea. It might cause damage to your boat. After all, you would never consider cleaning pavers in a hurry!

Make sure you are in the right area. Some marinas have designated a cleaning and repairing area for boats. Be sure to follow rules.

Have a plan. Decide which area should go first and how many minutes you will spend in each area. Also determine which needs special attention.

Close all windows and hatches. Make sure water could not get in. Also cover everything that should not be wet.

Clean the dock before proceeding to your boat so you would not bring dirt onboard. Also remove any obstructions to have a big space to move around.

Make sure you have the right cleaning chemicals. Having the wrong one would break the pressure washer or your boat’s surface. Check the manuals to know the right detergent. It must also be environment friendly as it will have contact with the water creatures as you rinse it. Also know which part of your boat does not need it like the dock lines. Only clean it with lots of water.

Remove obstacles in your boat’s drainage so water would get out easily. If it does not have drainage, have absorbent sponges absorb the excess water.

In cleaning your boat, begin at the top then work your way down. Stay at least three feet away from the surface.

Do not let the detergent sit on the surface for more than five minutes. Work in sections. Wash and rinse one area before going to the next.

Never rinse your feet and hands with the equipment. The pressure is too strong that it can tear your skin.
