Home Lighting—Tips for Choosing The Right Fixtures For Your Bedroom

The bedroom is often our favorite part of the house and it deserves the best illumination for a comfortable sleep and relaxation. Though it’s great to get a shut eye in a dark bedroom, getting very little light can also sometimes hinder your other activities.

The illumination of the bedroom can range from bold to simple, and faint to dramatic. Your personal choice of fixtures can affect all these and it’s very important that you know what you need. It’s not always that we want to stay in a dark bedroom while writing or reading a book.
Before buying any fixture, you first have to determine the correct size your bedroom. Before heading out to shop, obtain an accurate measurement of your bedroom’s dimensions. Another important factor to consider when searching for the right fixtures is the ceiling height of the bedroom. Bedrooms usually have 8 to 9 feet ceiling heights. The higher the ceiling the more light it will need to illuminate the entire room. Recessed lights that have shorter bodies are good in providing adequate light for reading and also for dressing.
