How To Choose Your Duvet Covers

Duvet covers come in standard bedding sizes, and one should be chosen based on the size of the comforter to be covered. Most duvet covers are also fashioned with a little extra room for accommodation, as many comforters may be a little wider and/or longer than the bedding size that they are compatible with. Choosing the right duvet cover can be fundamental in pleasing the eye and senses. To learn more information about duvet covers and how to choose the best for your room, read the rest of the article.

Choosing the right fabric is one of the first steps in choosing the appropriate cover for a personal bedroom. Cotton is one of the more popular fabrics as it is all natural, breathable and generally easy to wash and take care of. It is very responsive to dye, so it is responsive to multiple color and design options. Cotton and polyester blends are the next choice.

Unlike cotton, it is not as prone to wrinkle; however, it is often not as comfortable. It does also clean and wash easily. Pure polyester is cheaper than the other materials, and very easy to care for; yet it is probably the least comfortable to the skin.

Linen and silk are more expensive and may require more sensitive care taking, yet they are the most pleasing to the eye and skin.

Higher thread count is similar to standard bedding as well - the higher the count the more comfortable and often more stylish the cover will be. Higher ply count is also related to improved heaviness and texture; this results in increased warmth, so is better in colder weather. The warmest bed cover material is flannel, which would not be a good choice in spring or summer.

Percale is a tighter weave than the others, and it can be done with natural and synthetic fibers. Percale is a medium weight, and it is easier to care for as well. Sateen is a cheaper material than satin, and feels just as nice.

Style is the next consideration in choosing the right bed cover. Children's prints are available; these can be cartoon characters, nursery rhyme themes, or favorite hobbies. Adult bedrooms can be styled with old fashioned ornate covers, loud, bold patterns, or smoothPsychology Articles, pastel colors.
