All of these tools can generally be found at local hardware stores for rent or purchase: -floor finish -rough and fine sandpaper-large cleaning towels-vacuum with hose attachment-dust masks-protective goggles -finishing brushes -floor panel edgers-floor sandersSteps1.Be careful not to spread dust around the room that could interfere with the finish. You can do this by closing air vents. Hanging wet towels and sheets near doors is also effective catching dust.2.Always start your sander in one corner of the room.3.Only sand in the direction of the wood grain.4.Replace your sandpaper each time it gets dull.5.Be patient as you continually sand until your floor is nice and smooth in its natural tint.6.Use nice even strokes to apply the floor finish to the floor, starting from one corner of the room and leaving yourself an exit in the place where you will end.7.If you have lumps in the floor finish work them out with nice even brush strokes.8.Once the finish looks evenly laid, give the finish several hours to dry.
