There are many different cleaning products out there,Pros and Cons of Carpet Cleaning Options Articles and they all have their advantages and disadvantages. The three primary options are the store bought cleaning products, the rented machines and the professional services.

Which choice is the best? It really depends on you. They all can be effective for different people, depending on what they need. If you are not sure which to go with, here are the three choices and the pros and cons of each:

#1) Cheap store bought products
An example of these would be odor and stain removers. These are able to get out basic stains that have only been in the rug a short time, but nothing deep.

Pros
Cheapest cleaning options of all - These products are very inexpensive. If you are looking to get rid of stains without paying a lot, this is the way to go.

Cons
Weakest of all the cleaning options - These products are not strong enough for eliminating anything but the most basic dirt stains, and maybe dog accidents. They are too weak to get out ground in stains that have been there for a long time.

#2) Rented machines
A lot of people go with rented machines, with the thinking that they will get the same results as the machines the professional use. They will be disappointed.

Pros
Cheaper than professional services - These are definitely less expensive than professional cleaning services, and this is the main reason many people opt for them.
More powerful than store bought solutions - These rented machines are definitely stronger than the store bought stain removers. They are indeed able to get out deeper stains, as advertised.

Cons
Lower quality than professional services - These machines are not nearly as powerful as the ones the professionals use. For one thing, they have lower water temperatures, and therefore are not able to get out deep stains as effectively. For another thing, they are not as thorough, and the vacuuming power is not as strong.

#3) Professional services
These services are more expensive than the rented machines upfront. However, you might actually save you money in the long run. This is because you won’t have to first get the rented service, and then hire the professional after when that doesn’t work.

Pros
Most thorough cleaning options  - Their cleaners are definitely more thorough and powerful than rented machines or store bought cleaners, because of the higher water temperatures. Their machines operate at temperatures of over 250 degrees Fahrenheit. For safety reasons, rented machines don’t even approach these temperatures.

Cons
Most expensive cleaning choice - As mentioned, professional services are expensive upfront.

Conclusion
The cleaning product you choose really depends on your budget and carpet condition. Use these guidelines, and you will select the best for you shortly.
