Getting rid of unwanted junk from a closet is a huge job.  Getting rid of the items you no longer need can take up just as much time as the actual clean up.  You argue with yourself: It is too good to throw away,Reaping the Benefits of Organizing Your Custom Closets Articles but you really do not use it,' or 'so-and-so gave you those twenty years ago.’  If you want to clear out your custom closets, but find yourself in this argument, consider getting rid of the extra stuff in a way that benefits everyone.  It is so much easier to give away with that as an excuse.  Items with Personal Attachment  We all have at least one of these items in the closet.  The one that does not fit any more, or is just too nasty to bring out, but you cannot bear to toss.  The item itself has no more significance than any other of its kind has.  It is you and your memories that make it special.  To preserve the memory without filling your custom closets, take a picture and personalize it, keep them in an album or box, or scrapbook it.  You can better preserve the memory without the added clutter.  Junk Swap  If you have unwanted stuff, and your friends have unwanted stuff, throw a party.  Everyone can bring the items that no longer fit.  Then, bring out the beverages, chips and dip, and have a party.  Separate everything in designated areas.  You can hold a fashion show or fake auction by taking turns.  The idea is that everyone has fun getting things they could use, and getting rid of the things they do not need.  Get Your Money Back  Places like eBay have opened the door to dumping unwanted items.  You can collect them together and sell them individually, or in sets.  You will find buyers will snap up the items quickly.  The money you get back out of it will help you purchase items you do need and want, or even take that vacation you have been eyeing.  With eBay, explore your creative side.  Create new designs from old ones.  Turn jeans into other items.  You can also paint on them, dress them up, and resell them as your own creations.  You can open up your creativity, increase your income, and build on your business savvy.  You might consider getting the kids or friends in on it as well.  Donations  Donating the unwanted items from the bottom of your custom closets is always a great way to eliminate the clutter.  You get a clean closet, and others get items they genuinely need.  Homeless and women's shelters are two main places that can always use the help.  Places such as the Red Cross and other humanitarian organizations often take up collections of gently used and new items for families who have experienced tragedies.  Alternatively, schools will take shirts and many other items to use for various projects.  Regardless of whether you live in the country, closet clutter can be a good thing so long as it does not stay there.  As an added benefit, you will find organized custom closets will help others, free up needed space, and relieve the stress benefiting all aspects of your life.
