We are all familiar with swords or have at least,Sword Racks - What You Must Know Articles seen films where swords have been liberally used. Films like American Samurai have given us an insight into the famous swordsmen of times past. Swords are an integral part of many cultures and have been used in warfare throughout most of human history up until World War 1 when more advanced weaponry for warfare were developed.

Today, swords are mostly ornamental and they can be seen in many museums where they are put on display on sword display racks. Sword wall racks are also used to display swords, and these have become a tourist attraction for fun-seekers who wish to learn a bit more about the weapons of conquest in times gone by.

Sword display racks come in various shapes and sizes and are also made from various materials. Many of the beautiful display racks were developed by the Japanese. From the designs, we can see that a sword wall rack or display rack says a lot about the value attached to the sword it displays. Many of these racks are expensive and are owned by the opulent.

It is not unusual for a them to be specially crafted for a specific sword. For example, you can see a special rack for the Shuihi Tachi or Katana swords, popularized by the classic Chinese novels of the 14th century.

Materials used in making sword wall racks range from pure oak wood to more expensive and intricate designs made of brass. Some wall racks are designed to display up to three swords. As can be seen from the diagrams above, sword racks are not just for holding swords. They also serve to make a style statement for the discerning collector.

Whichever one you decide to go for, they are also a collector's delight and serves to add a touch of style to your home or collection centre.

If you want to own one of your own, there are several online shops where you can get them, and at good prices too. Of course, there is no point just getting a rack without the accompanying sword. If you are buying the sword as well as its accompanying rack, do please remember that they must be kept out of the reach of children and only displayed responsibly where they will not bring harm to people around.
