The beauty of the landscaped garden is that there is something of appeal every day of the year. With the seasons come changes to your garden which in turn is what gives it variety and interest. It's a chance to see new plants bloom,Your landscaped garden at night time Articles new plants propagated and a chance to see the way your garden reacts to the changes in climate. But all of these changes are only able to be witnessed during the daytime. One of the great delights of having a beautiful garden is that with appropriate lighting you can enjoy it in a new and different way long after the sun has gone down. This is where lighting in a landscaped garden comes into its own.
There are all types of outdoor lighting available today and there are many ways in which this variety of lighting can be used throughout your outdoor areas. For example some people like to have a row of lights along one or both sides of their driveway for safety reasons at night and also for a dramatic effect your driveway is subtly but beautifully lit when you come home at night. In other situations people want to highlight a particular plant or a particular area of their garden and so have lighting to this effect. In other gardens people like to have a series of lights scattered throughout the garden so that wherever you walk you can enjoy the beauty of your landscaped outdoor areas.
And just as there are many different types of lights and many different ways in which you can use them there is also a variety of ways in which they can be operated. The lights can be operated manually where at the flick of a single switch you can turn on or turn off all the lights in your garden. Or else you could have a semi-automatic or automatic system of lighting. With the appropriate timer, your garden lights come on at the same time and are switched off at the same time depending on the instructions you provide. It can be a delightful experience sitting inside your home looking out through a glass door or window and see your garden come alive with special and effective lighting.
Just as technology has developed over the years in many areas of computers, lighting and power saving, you in consultation with your landscape garden designer, can come up with a brilliant and dramatic lighting plot to truly show off the beauty of your garden.
There is a great skill in knowing which type of light to choose and how it can be used to obtain the best effect from garden lighting. For example a small tree with a low level lighting pointed in the right direction shows off that tree in a way you could not imagine during the daytime. This is where an experienced landscape garden designer will help you obtain the maximum benefit from today's technology.
A good idea is to look at photographs of how garden lighting is used in other people’s properties. If you see a garden feature, a particular plant or even a complete garden with a lighting effect which really appeals, make a note of that and show that photo or photos to your landscape designer. He or she will have plenty of ideas of their own but as it's your garden, definitely make sure you make known the things which appeal to you.
